About Marco Island
Of Florida's ten thousand islands, Marco Island is the largest. Located off the Southwest Coast of Florida in the Gulf of Mexico.
Marco Island has miles and miles of sun-washed white beaches, luxurious real estate, beautiful year-round weather, great restaurants, great shopping, dining, lively entertainment and plenty of recreational activities from golf to tennis and boating to fishing!
Marco Island has much to offer, whether you’re a first-timer or seasoned visitor or call this island home year-round.
Blessed with warm weather and pristine beaches, Marco continues to attract visitors from the world over. Most who come will return. Many who visit choose to stay permanently.
In the off-season, most of Marco has been spreading the word that our beaches are pristine! The See You In The Sand campaign continues to use word-of-mouth and personal communication to inform our Northern friends that Marco’s beauty and way of life have been unfazed by the recent Gulf of Mexico oil spill.
Marco’s unique amenities are virtually endless. You name it. If it involves outdoor recreation, it’s possible to do it here without even driving off the island.
Marco is noted for its terrific golfing, unparalleled boating and fishing, and scenic views. But Marco also has unexcelled leisure activities – dining, shopping and just plain exploring.
Marco also is an active arts community. From a lively community theater to traditional art and off-beat galleries, Marco residents and visitors have much to choose from.
Beauty and the Beach
Marco Island is home to world-class beaches. Whether you want to stroll, sight-see or just bask in the warm Florida sand, Marco’s the destination. The Marco Island Area Chamber of Commerce points out that Marco Island includes six miles of beach, with most island resorts located directly on the beach.
South Beach is home to some of Marco’s most spectacular real estate – as well as the enchanting and popular beach itself. Access is through the South Marco Beach access, which includes a 70-car parking lot at Swallow Avenue across from Collier Boulevard from the beach access.
Tigertail Beach is equally picturesque, located at the north end of the island. The 31-acre public beach is complex!
